The law dealing with wills and estates is called the law of succession. In making a will or managing the affairs of someone who has died, there are many legal requirements to be met. Sometimes the work need not be done by a lawyer and where this is so it is pointed out. The Public Trustee, a private trustee company or a private lawyer can prepare a will and, if necessary, they can become executors or trustees, while the Legal Services Commission or a community legal centre can give advice about these matters.
