Gift and death duties

These have been abolished by the Federal and State governments. As a result, the only taxes on a disposal of property during the owner's lifetime or on death is the stamp duty payable on a conveyance, such as the transfer of real estate. Note: nominal stamp duty applies to a conveyance of property pursuant to a will.
