Local Nuisance and Litter Control

As of 1 February 2017 the Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 (SA) provides local councils with extensive powers to deal with litter control. Powers have also been provided for dealing with local nuisances such as noise, fumes, odours and unsightly premises but the full impact of these changes will commence on 1 July 2017. Provisions in relation to bill posting also commence on 1 July 2017.

For further information about the extent of the powers and when they apply see the following articles on Local Nuisance and Litter Control.

The Local Government Association has a series of factsheets detailing the changes available at https://www.lga.sa.gov.au/page.aspx?u=6964.
