How to enforce a CA

A CA must include a dispute settling procedure which should be followed if there is a breach of the provisions of the agreement. If this doesn't work, or the parties did not set out their own dispute resolution process the dispute may be notified to the AIRC if it cannot be settled at the workplace. The AIRC will attempt to conciliate the matter and, if conciliation fails, the AIRC may arbitrate. Notification of disputes to the AIRC is generally made by a union, but a dispute notification may be made by an individual employee who is a party to the CA.
